NATO DIANA Accelerator for dual-use technologies announced its 2025 cohort

The Defence Innovation Accelerator for the North Atlantic, NATO DIANA, has announced a new cohort of innovative companies will join the Accelerator Programme in January 2025.

DIANA was set-up by NATO in 2023 to tackle societal challenges through disruptive dual-use technologies.


NATO DIANA has identified 5 key streams of actions:

  • Energy and power

  • Critical infrastructure and logistics

  • Data and Information Security

  • Human health and performance

  • Sensing and surveillance


The 2025 cohort of 73 start-ups and SME are roughly evenly spread among those streams of actions.

UK DASA, the UK Defence and Security Accelerator, is one of NATO DIANA's test centres, and will welcome 5 of these selected innovative companies, all selected as part of the "Sensing & Surveillance" stream:



  • AI Verse (France) An artificial intelligence (AI) company addressing the challenges surrounding accessibility, quality, privacy, accuracy, and labelling of images for training computer vision models.

  • EIFys (Finland) Founded by university researchers, the company aims to commercialise induced junction black silicon photodiodes.

  • Metahelios (UK) A company building imaging technologies for industries through a nanotechnological approach.

  • RVmagnetics (Slovakia) A high-technology company in the field of sensors and identification technologies based on microwaves.

  • Winse Power (Finland) A company developing Optical links, a solution for delivering power and data with light, with applications in the sensing and surveillance fields.

As part of the programme, each company will receive €100,000 to continue iterating their technology solution, along with training and insights from experts in technology, commercial development and defence, and opportunities to test their technology in a variety of specialised environments. Companies in the programme are paired with one of DIANA’s network of accelerators for on-the-ground training, development and support.
